Dog Jingle Thursday – Red Bone

smoot.jpgLast week I confessed my addiction to the Cutlery Corner Network, and this week I confess something new.

In May I lamented about the lack of really good jingles in The world of the waning jingle. I’ve been doing my own part to remedy that.

When my dog does a good job of going potty outside, she gets a treat. Each time we get Stella a different brand of treat, I make up a jingle and sing it to her before giving her the treat.

Yes, I’m a freak. No need to point that out.

Last Christmas Stella received a huge bag of Milk Bone-esque mini treats. The colors in the bag were red, brown, tan, and green. There were far more brown and tan than red and green.

Here’s the jingle for brown/tan/red/green bone. Red and green versions were upbeat, but the brown and tan versions were sung to give that perfect “Oh damn, it’s another brown/tan bone” feeling. Since red was her favorite “flavor,” that’s the one I went with.

I’ve recorded the jingle in the style of a schmaltzy late night talk show band. Enjoy.
