Hide This Thing picked up by AdRants
No sooner did I receive notice of the “first hiding of the thing” in the Thingatorium when I noticed my traffic picking up. Looks like hidethisthing.com has been featured on AdRants.
Steve’s post does bring up a very good point, and one that I wrestled with when devising the site:
We do wonder though if “making official” easter eggs doesn’t detract from exactly what they are supposed to be: crazy one-offs that express something the individual was feeling at the moment of creation. You decide.
Ultimately I decided that even though the act of hiding this “thing” in a creative project is very much like that of hiding easter eggs, it’s also a little more than that. It’s more like being in on a common joke with a creative community… at least that’s how I envision it. What it eventually becomes is up to the community that I hope sprouts up around the concept.
