We smoke while we shoot the bird
So, I’m sure you heard the news today that Boston was brought to a halt because of some guerrilla marketing pieces for the upcoming Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theatres. This evening brings the news that someone involved with the ad campaign has been arrested.
[adult swim] just ran their official apologetic press release before tonight’s Family Guy, and have said that they have given authorities the locations of all the signs across the nation.
So, the thing that gets me is that now we have to be concerned about being arrested for subversive, non-traditional campaigns? Seriously, this campaign has run in 9 major metropolitan areas across the nation for over a week and no one else has gotten bent out of shape about it. It just goes to show how we as a nation have kinda gotten a little too hinky and uptight about stuff as a whole. Because really, if we can’t enjoy illuminated Mooninites giving the bird during a traffic jam, then the terrorists have truly won.
I’m sure that there’ll be more to discuss regarding this incident over the weekend. I just wanted to get the discussion going early.
