Happy Halloween, yo.

shogun.jpgSo, it’s Halloween, and I was trying to think of something good to post today that had some good creativity value to it, so I decided to look back on costumes past… more specifically the awesome vinyl mask and smock combo costumes of the 60′s, 70′s, and 80′s from fine manufacturers such as Ben Cooper and Collegeville, (but not Mainway Toys). You had to be incredibly creative and imaginative to convince yourself that these were even close to cool costumes. Although, I do remember feeling pretty snazzy in my Cooper creations.

I recall having a number of the different Star Wars costumes that Ben Cooper produced. C-3PO and a Stormtrooper are a couple that I’m sure I’d find as a yellowed photo in my parent’s storage closet, but I think my favorite costume recollection is that bad boy to the left… Mazinga from Shogun Warriors. Strangely enough, even though that was my favorite costume as a kid, I really don’t like anime. But that’s another story.

Anyway, after doing a little research I’d like to share a couple of walks down costume memory lane courtesy of retroCRUSH as my treat to you, my dear ghouls and goblins. Don’t fill up on the Tootsie Rolls or you’ll spoil your dinner.
